Foreign nationals are allowed to work together with the Turkish Constitution Law No. 4817.  Within the scope of this law, temporary work permits are issued for foreigners.

Within the scope of this article, depending on the duration of the residence permit of the foreigner and the duration of the service contract or job, it is given for a maximum of one year to work in a certain workplace or business and in a certain profession.

After one year of legal work, the duration of the work permit can be extended up to three years to work in the same workplace or business and the same profession.

At the end of the three-year legal work period, the duration of the work permit can be extended up to six years to work in the same profession and with the employer of choice.

Not with standing situation and developments in working life in Turkey legally and uninterruptedly for at least eight years or six years residing foreigners to legally work in the labor market; indefinite work permits may be granted without being restricted to a particular business, profession, property or geographical area.
